wESTsIDE & SKY 15

Sky turned fifteen and got her braces off all at the same time. Her hair is lighter and she looks happy and beautiful. Lucas was happy to come out for a birthday supper with us and Gramma.

I don't know what it is . . . but this line of Me and My Big Ideas papers is so perfect for my kids. The colors in this paper work well for this picture of Sky. Of course, you can see that she is growing up and becoming such a beautiful lady.

A Walk Down By The River & Dress Up Faith

I like the new Basic Grey line called Origins (I think). I have had these pictures of a hike we took quite a few years ago. I'll put the year in the bottom right corner when I remember the year. It was just one of those pages where you add and add and add until you feel it is finished.

This is such a cute picture of Faith. She is wearing a dress her Gido bought in Mexico. She has on her golden high heeled shoes and on her head is a shoe bag. She felt like a princess. She looks like a Baba.

KISS - Again

A pyrotechnics page. I got some of the confetti from the concert. It got caught in everything and I'm still finding it in the weirdest places.
I had to make a Gene's face page. The background didn't work out as I planned; but it's okay.

This is my favorite picture of Paul Stanley. Had to add a bunch of stars and by luck, the tickets matched the page perfectly.

KISS

These are a few of my KISS pages. Gene was crazy for these pictures and then he flew up onto the rafters.

These are also some of my favorite pictures of Paul. He flew onto the sound stage and then I got these pictures.

The last page was a bit difficult to make. Eventhough it is a bit old, I cut all of the pictures into 1" squares and put them all together.

KISS

Sorry I haven't been on here lately, I have been busy. Last night I went to KISS. May have to do a few pages of my pictures. These are a couple of the 256 pictures I took. We Rock 'n Rolled All Night!

Moments in Time - Sweet

I loved the colors in this picture. I found so many papers that matched. I ended up with these two and then added ribbons and flowers. The actual page looks so good.

1963

You can't tell from the photo, but there are hints of orange and blue in it; which is why I chose these colors for the layout. The strips are paper and the diecut matched perfectly. This is Dwynn at 1 year old.

Shirley and Estelle & Ted

These are pictures of Shirley and Ted when they were little. I used my favorite baby paper from Graphic 45 and added some flowers, metal, ribbon etc. I cut the flowers out of another sheet of the same paper and popped them off the page with pop dots and ink around the edge of the flowers. I added some leaves that had the same tones.

Family

I used the plaid on Terralynn's dress when I was deciding on this page. I seemed like the one thing that really stuck out. It slowly grew from there. The red flower ribbon has black brads in the centers of the flowers and the white flowers are a felt ribbon.

Moments in Time - Shirley

This is my favorite page that I did this weekend. At first I was a total mess with it. Slowly, I found things here and there. I began all of these pages at home and completed them at work. I guess having supplies at both places helps to add to the complete page. Anyhow, it isn't a page with any "line" on it, I gathered things from different lines, places and some are years old . . . but worked perfectly for the page.

Building the Cabin

I finally figured out the dates on the pictures with a little explanation. Anyhow, between clearing the land and getting the utilities in, it took quite awhile before the cabin could be constructed. I added some dark blue ribbon to match the title and then I added some brads that look like screw heads across the page. I felt the framing paper and the blueprint paper matched the colors in the pictures well.

Theresa

This paper came in very recently. Again, the colors worked so well with the pictures. I got to use my new punch again. Then I cut out the flowers and added some stickles to the centres of them.

Eliza

These patterned papers are from a line of my favorite paper. I have used it before with a page of Sky in ballet. The colors worked really well with these pictures. I added some bling in some of the flowers.

Brooke

This is a Basic Grey line that has always caught my eye. Luckily it worked well for this layout of Brooke. It works well when you have a lot of pictures with a lot of colors. I included some of the chipboard . . . which I hope to use on some of the other layouts as well.

Lee

We got this wonderful new paper in for boys and it worked so well for these pictures. I added some metal to it and then I was done.

ABC 123

This is one of Dwynn's favorite pictures of Alyshia. She has such beautiful blue eyes and looks so innocent in this picture. I wanted to keep the sweet look she had on her face on the rest of the page. It ended up being a real baby girl page. The bottom tags say "Heaven Sent" and her name "Alyshia".

Dallas

These are a few of the school pictures they had of Dallas. I have always found school pictures to be a bit difficult because of the various colors. Usually I change all of the pictures to the same size and turn them black and white. However, this page seemed to work out alright. I even got to use some of our newest boy paper and stickers.

Emma Lake

Too bad there is such a glare on these pictures. The cabin was beautiful and I tried to include all angles of it here, including a picture of the inside. From what I can see from the photos, this was a labour of love to build and a great memory for the Forsyths.

Shirley & Ted

First of all, I don't know why I titled this Shirley & Ted instead of Ted & Shirley. Maybe because she is on the left in the picture . . . I dunno. I just couldn't change it once the stickers were down. May be a faux pax back in the 40's; but today I think it will be okay. Anyhow, these are what I received of the wedding pictures. The one on the left is the only color one and the rest are quite faded black and whites (as you can see). I tried to blend them in to the page with the use of white flowers, ribbon and letters. I put the date on the top of the one picture because some of the top of the picture had been ripped off. Can't tell now, can you? Well, this is what I got done this weekend for this book. I intend to continue through the week when I work. Hopefully it won't take too long. But I am having fun with it.

Playing at the Lake

When I first glanced at these pictures, I thought they were my two oldest daughters. Faith, the older one with brunette hair looks like Terralynn and then the little blonde beside her looks like Jade . . . but is Alyshia. Crazy, I am sure they had some of the same clothes . . . especially the smiley face soled rubber boots. Anyhow, this is the beginning of the grandkids. I have a Judah one started at the store. I enjoyed the colors in this page and the Fancy Pants paper worked just perfectly.

Fall

I loved these pictures as soon as I saw them. They are of Shirley and Ted at the lake in the fall. The colors are beautiful. Luckily, we just got some of the Basic Grey line "Indian Summer" and the colors were perfect. I added some Basic Grey chipboard and rub-ons, a scalloped edge and some bling in the scallops. I will have to get some journalling ideas from Dwynn for some of these pages. If Shelley or Heather have something they would like to have written on any of these pages, please leave a comment or Dwynn has my e-mail address.

Dwynn

Well, this picture was taken a long time before I knew him. But then again, up until a month ago, I hadn't heard from him in 32 years. This is Dwynn, ya . . . my first boyfriend . . . back in the '70's. Anyhow, I used some Cosmo Cricket and Fancy Pants paper, buttons, ribbon and a die cut saying "Keep shining my BRIGHT and shining star". Boys, boys, boys, it would be so much easier if we could add flowers . . . but nooooo! Oh well, "cute as a button" they say.

Shelley

I did this page of Shelley next. These pictures are so wonderful to do because they are black and white and I could do almost anything I wanted to. The flourishes on the patterned paper are black velvet as is the black ribbon on the sides of the paper. I have cherry blossoms on the page as well as her name glimmer misted with silver. Isn't the new punch I bought to do the sides great . . . a scallop with holes . . . fun! Now I can scallop any size paper I want to.

Heather

I am going to begin my blogs with this page; because I did this page first. I am creating a scrapbook for an old friend Dwynn's parents on the occasion of their 60th Wedding Anniversary. What do you get for people who have everything . . . a personal scrapbook of family. Dwynn's sisters Heather and Shelley (who also thought the idea was perfect) have permitted me to add these pages to my blog. Thank you two for that. I have been having a blast creating these pages and will post them as I do them so Dwynn, Shelley and Heather can see them as I do them. Hope you like them.

My Family at My Father's 75th Birthday Party

It's not very often that the six of us get together. This September, my father celebrated his 75th birthday. We had some family and friends here for a party. It was small, but wonderful. My father was surprised and everyone had fun visiting. The one part that I found very special was later in the evening when Ken realized that everyone else had gone into the house except for us original six. We stayed outside for almost an extra hour just visiting. It was a wonderful day.

Settling in for the Fall

Eventhough we didn't have much of a summer, since it is September, we must face the realization that winter will be upon us soon. Thankfully, we have had a decent fall so far. I'll be busy with my father's 75th birthday party this weekend. We are having family down for a small party. I have Saturday off which is a very unusual thing. I'm back to work teaching and loving it. I really missed the students and staff members that I saw on a regular basis for the last few years. I hope everyone is having as wonderful a September as I am. Thanx D!!!
Some more photographs of Faith's grad. Her favorite is the one with her sitting and Mike leaning against the tree. I can't wait to get some new paper in to do some more of her grad pictures. Hi D!!

Happy Together

Again, I did a heritage page. Donna is so lucky that there are so many pictures of her. Me being the fourth child, there aren't many of me. I've probably complained about this before; but geesh! I love pictures like this . . . they all look so young! Hi D!!

Cousins - The Petriews Visit

I've been getting back into some old pictures again. Trying a more simplistic style of scrapbooking. I've got to get out of this box!!!! Hi D!!!

Holidays in Neilburg

Gosh, when I get home from the store, my mind goes to mush. Anyhow, this weekend Dionne and I got productive and did a few pages. Yes, I said Dionne . . . she's back for awhile . . . not sure how long; but we welcome her with open arms. Hugs Dee!!! We played with some new lines of paper that just arrive. We had so much fun. We had some fun with a newcomer to scrapbooking trying to help with some pages. Hi D!!!

My Bikini and Domestic Goddess Mini Book

This is my favorite page I did this week. It's me when I was a baby. My mom made me the bikini. I used Fancy Pants paper and a die cut. I used Creative Cafe felt scalloped ribbon, Basic Grey lettering and Stickles to dot the square.

I have begun a mini-book using the Basic Grey Domestic Goddess line. I have a lot of embellishing to do yet which I hope to do today . . . holiday monday.

Ruff Work and Duck

I've loved these little dogs on the Basic Grey line for a long time. Finally I decided to do a page with them. I am so glad I took pictures of Lucas practicing his fine motor skills by using scissors. He is so cute.
This is my favorite picture of me as a kid. The tag tells the story of how I got the nickname Duck and how it carried on through my teenage years. Again, I used Basic Grey and while not trying to, I almost re-created earlier pages I've done. Out of the box, out of the box. Man, I have lots to learn.

Trying on Grad Gowns

These are some of the grad gowns that Faith tried on and did not choose for obvious reasons stated on the photos. I used the Fancy Pants line for this page.
I had these pictures cut out already so I wasn't sure what to do with them. Jade and Lucas have always gotten along really well. After looking at some videos over the summer, I remembered how Jade used to call Lucas "Luckie".

gr8 and Midway

Do you ever start a page thinking it should be okay and then get into it and not like it; but continue anyhow? That is these two pages. Didn't want to finish them; but did. I guess it is good for people in the store to see beginner pages. Ralna and I decided our pages were all the same and getting a bit boring. I said I wasn't even stuck in a box, I was in a coffin, with it nailed shut. I did some better ones later in the week so the week wasn't a total loss.

A Second to Chat . . . No More Than That

Hi! Sorry for not having any pictures for you today. School has begun. I was out my first two days and am back out tomorrow. Yes!!!!! Just Scrap It got in a bunch of new product. There is so much paper . . . I don't know where Ralna will put it all. But, it's nice.Tons of Jolees and new embellies that go with the paper . . . it's crazy. I want to say what I saw yesterday . . . but there's too much to mention. So, you'll have to go and look for yourself. Well, the weather is nice finally so I have spent some time with students outside as I said I would. Wonderful, wonderful sun. Gotta love it. Sounds like September is going to be hot. I think my iron levels have gone up a bit. At least I don't feel like staring at a wall all day. I have some energy back and being off coffee isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Hope everyone is having a great September.

My Quilt

Well, I can finally finish my quilt book. I found it yesterday and then I found all of the other things I had gathered to put in it. Here's the story. For each of my sibling's 40th birthdays I made them a scrapbook. So, for my 40th, my mom was going to make me one. I asked her to make me a quilt instead since I had done so much of my pictures already. So, the year before I turned 40, she began this quilt. Well, I got it this year for my birthday. I can't believe how much it means to me. Just to look at the underside of it and realize that all of the quilting stitches were done by hand is amazing. (Click on the underside picture and look at it close up.) It took her six years because both her and my dad got sick and she wasn't able to do it much. As it says in the corned: PROMISED - 40, COMPLETED - 45, AUGUST 2009, LOVE MOM! I took it home that night, changed my sheets and pillowcases and layed it on my bed. When I went to sleep that night, it was like being tucked in by my mom and feeling that she was taking care of me. So, the next day, I got a few different colored throw pillows and sheets so everything would match. Now I have to change the four canvas's in my room that I did in the Periphery Line. Oh, well, more fun on the way.

Summer 2009

So, every year I do a page of who/what/where I am at this point of my life. This is it. As you can see, I've been reading quite a bit. Today I found out why I haven't had the energy to do anything more than read. My iron level is really low. The doctor said the range for iron is between 20 - 120 to be healthy. My iron is at 3. Ya, 3. So, given that, he understands why I have no energy to do anything; which is why I feel so lousy, why I have been gaining weight and wanting food that is no good for me. Well, hopefully by my next birthday, I will be feeling better.

"17"

Jader wanted a cake like I used to make when they were kids so I went to Michaels and got all of the necessary stuff to create a cake of some kind. I got a pan that could be made into any kind of animal. The look on her face was priceless when I let her taste the icing. She said it reminded her of when she was six. She wanted a yellow and pink giraffe. Its antlers fell off but she was okay with that. Anyhow, she enjoyed her cake.

Cards

I made twin cards for my sister and sister-in-law for their birthdays on August 26th. I used scraps from the mini album I made last week.
