Wild Thing

This picture has always reminded me of a Dr. Seuss character. Sky loved green and this sweater was one of her favorites because of the soft feathery stuff around the hood. This paper was new and matched the feeling of the picture so I made it quickly and simply. Since the picture is so cute, I wanted to make the page simple so I wouldn't lose it.

River Stuff

We got in this wonderful travel paper. But, since I don't travel much, I found a use for it. The colors worked well and were very "Sky" colors back at this time of her life. We had gone for a walk down by the river and collected things. We couldn't go in the river because it was high and the current was dangerous. We just had to stay on our side and explore there.

Sky and Lucas - Growing Up Together

Here I used some Lime Rickey paper from Basic Grey and some old vellum quotes and Basic Grey letter stickers. It looks like I may have some scrapbooking time and supplies to use up this summer. Maybe I can get caught up -- if there is such a thing. With Faith's Grade 12 Grad this week, I'll probably be scrapping that all summer.

My Monkey

Lucas is always making faces and doing silly things. When this monkey paper came in, I found some pictures that matched the colors and did this page. I love the monkey with the toothy smile. Lucas always flips his eyelids to freak people out. Then there was the day he sucked whoppers to his nostrils. Ya, he's a laugh-a-minute kid.

Cutie Patootie

Sassafrass Line, picture of Lucas at about 1 or 2 years old. Isn't he the cutest thing ever? I never want to forget him like this. He was such a cute kid always having fun and being so sweet.

Looking Back

Yes, sometimes when I see an older picture of me I tend to think about the choices I've made along the way. Eventhough this picture was only taken maybe ten years ago, a lot has changed in my life. How could anyone say that they'd change their lives once they know their children? Maybe some things would change--but since we are not given that choice, I want to teach my children that they have to be strong individuals and make every choice the right one for them. I want them to know that they have to make it on their own and not depend on anyone else to help them survive. We don't know what is around the corner for us, so we have to make sure that we know we can survive no matter what. We have to become independent individuals that believe in ourselves. We also have to be able to take the responsibility for our own decisions and actions. It is hard . . . but once we have, we become better people for it.

Sandy & Mike

We got this wonderful new wedding paper in awhile ago and I was hoping to use it on some of Mike and Rhea's pages; but as I was cleaning up, I found these pictures of my cousin Sandy's wedding. I really wanted to get these scrapbooked because I wanted to make sure I didn't lose the family picture on the bottom. It was probably one of the last photos taken of my Auntie Marilyn before she passed away. I love that Sandy looks so happy in the top picture too. She was my one and only girl cousin around my age. She lived and still lives in B.C. We really should keep in touch. Maybe I can get ahold of her. Sounds like a new and challenging job.

Jade's Dream Car & Wheels 60's Style

Well, Jade and I went outa car for Jade. She nearly jumped out of her seat when she saw this 2001 Toyota Celica. While it needs a bit of work, we got it for a good price and are going to slowly work on it together. We get all season tires for it tomorrow -- but have a set of awesome winter tires for it too (guess I'll need to store them somewhere for the summer -- if the summer ever shows up). She's been driving it everywhere. I had to put a restriction on the amount of gas she can use each week because all she wants to do is drive it. I understand that's normal, but with the price of gas going up yet again, she has to slow down on the cruising. I called this page Jade's Dream Car because ever since she could differentiate between different cars (many years ago), she has always wanted this style of Celica. She says she still can't believe it is hers. I hope that will help her to take care of it.



These are pictures of my brother Dale when he was a kid. Like any kid, he had his bike and his toy cars. I really do believe it was my two brothers who set me up to love cars. They always had HotRod magazines and then there was the t-shirts with the cars on them. As we drove around the city, they were constantly pointing out different cars. That's how I learned which cars were which. The first car I ever drove was a Dodge Dart. Loved that car.

Studio 45 - Heritage

Yes, me too! I fell in love with this line of paper. I still have so many pictures of my ancestors and have been waiting around for some new paper. This line really worked well for all three of these pages. I used some of my old paper and mixed some with the new lines and old embellies. And, no I don't think I will ever get all of my heritage pages done. As I have said before, I go back and forth between old and new. This was the most fun I've had with old pictures recently.

Oops & Tiny Dancer

Doing some older pictures again. I loved the look on Lucas's face here. He's such a funny kid. We had this great shaped paper in and I wanted to do a page. Now that I look at it, I wish I could have done something better with it. But, we all know, some pages turn out the way we wanted them to and others don't. Whatever . . . the memory is there along with the pictures and journalling.

I found this picture of Jade when she was in ballet. She loved ballet and was really really good at it. Her form and discipline was A+. I will always feel bad that I couldn't afford to keep her in it. She still says she misses it. I see her once in awhile pointing her toes the way she did when she was small.

Jade and Lucas

This is Jade's Grade 11 school picture. She doesn't like it! Duh? She's beautiful. So I didn't have to do much with the page: some sparkly paper and bling and that's it. It has the date on the bottom, so I didn't add the grade. Then there is Spud. When he was little, he was always sick with a pluggy nose, sniffles, sneezes, skin rashes and stuff, so we took him for allergy tests. Luckily it isn't anything serious; but he still reacts at different times of the year. Isn't he cute? He still is. This is another new line of paper MVP - though I can't remember the company name. Love it for boys!

Albert Oling 1926 Finland

Sorry the quality of the picture is so bad, didn't seem that way when I downloaded it. This page was done using our new Graphic 45 collection. I have another one in the works (one I just couldn't get together yesterday. Now I'm glad I waited, these papers are perfect for my heritage pages. This is my father's father and the next page I'm doing is of his sisters Signe and Inez. Lovin' the Line.

Ready, Set, Smile or Not & Peace Out

Some recent snaps of two of my girls. Faith had her hair curled while looking for her grad hairstyle. She loved it, so I snapped a few pictures of her. Her personality definately shines through in this pictures. She is so much fun. We had a blast taking and looking at these pictures. Man, she should be an actress -- but she wants to be a lawyer. Cool! Then Sky triple barrelled her hair for Easter and wanted some pictures, so I took them. Too bad it was outside and dark. In the original pictures you can see her hair; but on this you can't. It really looks nice. This is a typical pose for her. PEACE OUT!!!!

Donna and Jade

My sister Donna was the first child born in my family. Therefore, there are quite a few pictures of her. I have my favorites and am trying to scrapbook them without anyone else on the page so that each of my siblings can one day have their pages (if they want them). This paper is from our new Sassafrass line. Cute huh? I'll do some more with it. The next page is of Jade. We were in Radium Hot Springs I believe and Jade was great at dressing herself. Is she not the cutest thing around? I have more to add to the page. I'll probably do it at the store this weekend. But for now, really the B-Zoo line really does most of the work for you.

Kids

These are both fairly simple pages with some cardstock and new paper. You know how some days you are really creative and other days you are not. Well, with the winter/spring blahs, I seem to be really uncreative. I have been putting quite a few pictures on a page using older pictures. These are two examples. I have been published in the past; but feel that it is almost like another job to research new techniques to do publishable pages. I, however, have so much to do in my life, that scrapbooking is suppose to be my hobby and/or (as I have always said) my therapy. I don't have an endless supply of money, so my pages are on a budget (as I believe is the case for most scrapbookers.) So, take my layouts as they are: from a woman who has four children, two jobs and a single income. Once in awhile I may even surprise both of us and produce a "wow" page. It's nice to do that once in awhile. But, I have decided that I have to be happy with the time I have, the money I have to spend and getting my memories down.

Bikini Summer & You

I posted this earlier and just noticed that I had the same picture twice, so I just redid it. I have been going through old pictures and am enjoying this line of paper because it isn't so bright; but still bright.

A friend of mine recently announced that she is expecting her first child. So, I made her this card. I know, I don't make many cards; but I like this one. I guess she inspired my card-making creativity.

Celebrate Saskatchewan Winters

I wanted to make sure I had these photographs scrapbooked somewhere. This snowstorm was last years blizzard. I got some really good pictures and have wanted to scrapbook them. It seemed as though any patterned paper didn't work well. So, I used some cardstock, old rub-ons and stickles for the dots.

Caught a Caterpillar

My favorite page that I have done lately. New paper, older pictures and playing a bit. I dunno, I really like it. Fun!!!

Growing Up

New Penny Lane paper with some old, old pictures. I cut out the "weed". The pictures need some explanation: the sword was carved by my brother Dale when he was into the "Hobbit" books. The "thing" in my mouth is a sausage. Ya, and that is my brother Ken.

Gamer

I cut out some of the patterned paper to create this page. Then I used a Jolee's and cut out the t.v. screen and put in a picture of what Lucas was playing.

Twenty five pictures on a two page spread -- ya! Not much to say about this other than there are circles and tons of pictures -- but effective to capture the way the day went.

Gamers -- Lucas and Reed

These two boys have been best friends since their first day of kindergarten. They sat beside each other and have hung out always. They began gaming together and play everything online and on everything else together including riding bikes and playing baseball. This is the beginning of gaming and then came Runescape.

Special Kid

Old and new paper, old die cuts and cool memories. Lucas asked Faith to dance at Rhea's wedding. She loves to dance, she wanted to dance (and as Faith says -- her dumb boyfriend wouldn't dance with her). She got to dance a few times with strangers and her siblings. I think Mikey has learned his lesson because he danced with her recently at their winter formal.

Lucas . . . Again

Can you tell I did this one at home too. A new acrylic stamp with stickles, old acrylic lettering, old dies, old paper, old skeleton leaves and old sticker words. Now, while I know I don't get on line as much as I used to to update my blog, it seems that no one is out there looking. Are you guys still out there? I can't get onto the internet at work anymore and check anything and my home computer is acting up. I seem to not have much time to get my laptop so I must apologize for being lax. Hi Guys!!!!

My Kids - As Kids

I have found some more endearing pictures of my girls and am slowly getting them done. Again, using paper from home, I have created a few more children layouts. This first one is of Sky in the Baby Crawl. What a cute little munchkin. Love the baby colors.

Sky also has many expressions and always has ever since she was tiny. So I did this page because it is so her. All I had to do was add the striped paper which ended up looking like ribbons and then added some bling, flowers and some rub-ons. Again, scraps and stash from looking through stuff. Good title for my life: Scraps, Stash and Stuff.

Then there is this page of Faith in an outfit that Gram made for her. Must be where I got my love of crafting . . . watching Mom sew and knit and crochet. Now she does watercolor. My girls were so lucky to have my mom sew them these cute outfits. This was a new line of paper with old embellies.

Sharon as a Kid

I have decided to do some pages of my childhood while using up some papers I have at home. I cut out some daisies and added micro beads to them on this page. The other is about the floats we used to ride on as kids in Sutherland. Again, some old Basic Grey paper together with some newer embellishments. Stuff you never thought of putting together comes together when you are at home and have no other options.

Days Gone By

Yes, once again, I have ventured into my past and decided to begin doing some heritage pages (I guess I shouldn't call them heritage pages if I am in some of them). The Teresa Collins line has inspired me to do some more. It is nice to get some new heritage papers in and do some more. Ralna has ordered some more really cool stuff and I can't wait for it. I have taken most of my scrapbooking things home and taken some time to do some there.

sudoku

Yes, I have been broadening my horizons. While scrapbooking has always relaxed me, I find that I don't have the time to pull it out at home much. But, I have been doing it more lately because we have been so busy at work with work. So, just before bed, I read or do a sudoku puzzle to get my mind off of day to day stuff. There is also another diversion and I understand I share it with many other ladies: Mariokart Wii. Ya baby, what a blast. While I am very lame at it, I enjoy playing it with Lucas. He got me to play with him online with one of his friends the other day and . . . I beat the little noobs. Page to come . . .

Play Play Play

Cuteness or what? I have loved these pictures forever. I love how Lucas is looking inside the wooden train. He has always loved to play; usually with anything with wheels. I love to see the look on his face when he doesn't know anyone is watching. Love, love, love . . .

Vacation

We got this wonderful paper in at work a bit ago. When I was browsing through old pictures, I found this one and the colors matched. I did a simple, but effective page proving that, YES, once in awhile, I do smile.

Grade 1

I'm all over the place with this set of posts. Lucas in Grade 1. I have always loved these pictures. I love that you can see what Lucas is drawing on the while board. Such a cute picture. Then someone in the other pictures is so proudly holding his Canadian Flag up . . . upside down. Ya gotta luv Grade 1. They are so precious, honest and cutsie. Ralna's letter stamps stamped on the red, stamped on the yellow, cut out of the yellow and glued on the red.

Precious

I know I've used this paper already . . . but guess what? I love it. Then, the picture worked perfectly on it, so . . . I used it again. They will go in different albums, so I'm not worried.

Wheeler Wedding

Well, a few more pages done for Mike and Rhea's wedding. Unfortunately it is just like anything else with me, I do one and then do something else. As you can see by my other posts today, my topics are rather varied. Anyhow, I have four new ones for the Wheelers.
