SIR

Of course I had to get some pictures at the drag strip this summer. I tended to make a lot of pages that looked like this this summer.

Drag Racing

Roy and I went to the Jet Cars at SIR. It was great except for the rain. That seems to be the way it is this summer...everything is wonderful; just a but too much rain. (And mosquitoes). I got some good pictures anyhow and we had fun.

'77 Corvette

I have all of these beautiful pictures of this Cal's corvette. I just had to scrapbook one because I needed something different to scrapbook. As it ends up, I don't like the page . . . but I still like the picture.

Dream Machine

Sorry the colors went so "whack" on this post. I have always loved this line of Basic Grey so I brought it out of the stash. I used some amazing Prima felt (cut it a bit to make it fit), some Prima chipboard letters and some ribbon. Enjoying the page, enjoying the car. Just wish I could keep it clean in this mess we call Saskatchewan snow/sleet/flurries/slush/melt/mud mess.

Race Fans

Thank you Shawn/Shaun (sp) for the tickets to SIR. I went with my daughter Faith, who has decided that the Camaro in Cal's backyard is calling her to a life of drag racing. We sat in the stands and listened to engines and talked about cars. While her boyfriend is a NEON SRT4 fan, Faith and I are '60's and '70's Hotrod fans. Whenever, she heard the rumble of a "real" engine, she'd nudge her boyfriend and say, "That is what you call 'real' music to my ears."<- That's my daughter! She wants me to teach her a bit more about which cars are which: Chargers, Camaros, Cudas, Chevelles, Novas, Challengers, Mustangs, etc. Can you tell we had fun??!!

Body Parts II

I know . . . it's what you've all been waiting for . . . the BODY PARTS II page. This one has more pictures . . . 16 in all, new chipboard letters and all of my favorite body parts. Just makes you want to take a nice car out for a fast cruise. We have these great page protectors that have fold out flaps on either side. So, it's not really a panoramic page . . . but kinda. It's fun anyhow and allowed me to use all of the pictures I wanted to.

Two More Pages of Cars . . . A Beautiful Rainbow

Call me crazy. It is the middle of winter . . . the weather station said that tonight (with the windchill) the temperature will be around -42 c. These car pictures made me feel both warm inside and depressed that I couldn't be out driving something gorgeous in the hot summer sun. Simple and to the point -- just the way I like car pages to be.

Cadillac

This page has been sitting in the back room for quite some time. I didn't know what was missing, then yesterday, I simply rounded the two corners, matted it on a lighter color and I was satisfied with it. Again, nothing spectacular; but what I want to see is the cars. Old stickers, newer paper -- Basic Grey. It is amazing that this line really works for almost all of the car colors that were at Cruise Night.

Last Cruise of 2007

Some old, some new. The car is old, the paper is fairly new. The tag is old, the page is new. Simple, as is with the car pages I did this weekend.

Cal's '77 Vette

What a perfect way to end a fun weekend. Not only did I get some pages done, I saw Dionne (who worked at JSI when I began to scrapbook). She is a radio-personality in Yorkton who came in to see some friends. Then to top it off, Cal and I got the 'vette running and took it out for a cruise on Sunday Nite. I drove it to work Monday and out for supper Monday. My kids came home from their dad's place and all of this tied in a neat bundle -- made me very happy. I think the topper; however, was that Lucas told me he had read the entire book I had just bought him -- and he ASKED FOR MORE BOOKS TO READ!!!!!! Yeah BABY!!!!!

American Muscle

Again, I missed Cruise Weekend; but Cal took tons of pictures for me to scrapbook. I picked out my favorites and developed them along with his. The Basic Grey Obscure line looks great with each and every picture. I used a little black acrylic paint on this one, sandpapered, added a skunk stripe and a title and I was done. One of those simple pages that I love.
