Beautiful

This is Sky's Grade 8 Grad picture that I took at home. She looked so grown-up and beautiful. I used the new Basic Grey line and embellied it to the nth degree. I used Prima lace and velvet ribbon, lazer-cut flower paper and flower blings, rub-ons and pink roses. I think she felt as pretty as she looked. It was a great night for us.

Alive Pure Energy Discovery Free Bloom Original

A little bit of old with a little bit of new, some Glossy Accents and Bling finished off this page. Heidi helps with her polka dot paper because Jader's bathing suit was polka dots too. Jade had so much fun in the wave pool jumping into the waves.

Biffed It Bad

How do you scrapbook a bruise? Man, I wiped out seriously! You know how you put one foot on a pedal and then swing the other leg around and start riding. Well, I do it all the time. This time; however, I had on my sandals and one got hitched on my seat. I went ass over forehead and ended up looking like scrambled eggs on the sidewalk. Best of all I had just been in the liquor board store getting some rye. Talk about a bad experience. I couldn't wear short pants or shorts for weeks. A student hurt himself on the playground one day and I showed him my bruise. I told him I took the training wheels off my bike and wiped out. His tears stopped and he laughed at me. Gotta laugh at yourself to stop from crying sometimes.

Rider Pride

While we were reorganizing the store last week, I found this 29th Street paper that was orange and green . . . and it was football themed. Made no sense to me so . . . I had Cal take some pictures at the Rider home opener and changed the colors to help work with the paper a bit better. The Riders won the game, the Safeway people were kicked out for not being in their seats (which had been double-assigned by the ticket company) and all is normal in Saskatchewan.

Elton John

If anyone out there has any Elton John tickets for sale, I would love to get my hands on some. I had about 6 people (including myself) trying to get tickets with no luck. Lost out last concert too so I'd really like some help getting my hands on some. If you know of any, let me know. Thanks.

Magic

My mother told me she had to take me to see this cool thing down the street so Jade and I went. She showed us this tree on Ruth Street where this mushroom had grown out of it. She had been walking the dog and found it so neat to see some of nature in such a concrete world. So I took the picture and scrapbooked it. Again, simple and plain; but appropriate. It seemed magical that they could appear without anyone noticing them. They were so white and pure and fun to see.

Take Risks

Lucas has gotten so good on his RipStick. The other night I went outside and got pictures of him skating from one end of the parking lot to the other side and back. I even found out my camera can take 16 pictures one right after the other if he is moving fast. So I put a few of the lines on the page. Starts and arrows seem to be so "in" lately so I put them both on the page. I love the look of total determination on the picture the arrow points to. I am glad that he enjoys doing some things outside and physical along with the nintendo and stuff.

Teen and Good at It

I got this new cell phone and knew Jade could program it with my contacts a lot quicker than I ever could so I asked her to take my contacts out of my old phone and program them into my new phone. She did it for me while talking on her own phone. Three cell phones at once and didn't skip a beat. I never saw life like this with cell phones. But today, as mine is getting fixed and I didn't have one for a few days and have a loaner now, I can't see life without one. Weird. Love the paper and stickers. Really easy page. I even journalled.

Tinkering Around

Some Basic Grey scraps and Yellow Bicycle stickers I had laying around made up this page. I found it difficult to do because it was such bright colors. I need to add some journalling because this was Christmas morning and Lucas and Faith had so much fun making this contraption while everyone's ipod docking stations were playing and I was making bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, coffee and toast.

Hangin'

I love these pictures of Sky sittin'/layin'/sleepin' on Niko. It was after our ride and Sky had already taken his saddle off and was ridin' him bareback. These two were really good friends. I just used some scraps up to make this page. Again, it seems to be my style lately . . . simple but effective.

100% Adorable

Wonderful line of paper. I find that it is so self sufficient that I don't know what else to do with it. I added a few more flowers and rub-ons from the same line. Cute for a little person page. By the way, it was just yesterday that she was that old. Today she is almost 16. Time flies, things change . . . some for the better, some not. Eventhough she is a wonderful teenager, I do miss her as a little girl.

Auntie Sandy

More old pictures. Lots of patterned paper, prima flowers, ribbon and acrylic stamps. I love that this line of patterned paper enables you to use both sides and have them co-ordinate so well. Again, it is amazing to see just how much we have all changed. Sany has longer brown hair, I have short hair and the girls have grown up so much. I was so happy that my girls could meet my cousin. Sandy and I have always gotten along. I would love to be able to sit and chat with her again soon. She has since married and had a son. Life goes by so quickly.

Kisses

Heidi gave me some kisses one day when she was at the store. She is soooooo cute. She is too little to jump on your lap when you kneel on the floor. She has the cutest face ever. So, I used some of my favorite Basic Grey paper because it is probably the only picture I'll ever get with her. I have an appreciation for Pomeranians because my mother had one that was an angel.

Walk In the Park

I have been wanting to scrapbook these pictures for years. I loved the totem pole picture. Sky and Lucas walking hand in hand back home was so cute too. I used Wild Asparagus for most of this layout with some scraps of Basic Grey and old rub-ons. I used some rickrack and Heidi Swapp felt butterflies to decorate.

Important Things In Life

Basic Grey rocks again. It was so wonderful to see that this little frog topped Sky's cell phone in priority when it hopped across our path. Her cell phone rang and rang and rang as she grinned and held on tight all the way home. This line works so well for Walking With Dinosaurs pictures . . . right Penny?

1999 - 2000

I found some old photographs and have begun trying to get some of them on paper. After a few hours, I figured out what year of school this was. The girls were in Grades 1, 3 and 4 at St. Luke School. I decided to scrapbook them together because of the picture of the three of them in the van on the way to school. The pictures in school were very green because of the lights so I scrapbooked in green to take the tones away. Man they grow up quick: they are finishing their Grade 8, 10 and 11 years right now.

Freedom

I love this pattern, always have, always will. Since I got these great shots of Sky and they were such a light color, I had to stick with a lighter background. The flourishes are a Hambly overlay and the bird is a Heidi Swapp. More ribbon and an old rub-on that looked perfect for it. Just one of those pages I like to look at.

One Upon A Time

When I found these pictures, I just had to do the page . . . I do say that a lot don't I? I used some BZoo paper and added the Me and My Big Ideas girl that Deb and Ralna put on the front window of the store. I was happy to see that many of the members we had at the old location, are still members (and great friends) still today. Wonderful memory.

Thankful

I Glimmer Misted the entire background page with the punched scallops. I added some Wild Asparagus scalloped patterned paper and scallops. I added a ribbon onto the entire page and around the colors and scallops. Prima flowers embellished. I also bought a new acrylic stamp which is where I did the journalling on and stamped where leaves could/should be. This was a very important picture. One of the last before my Grandmother died. It was taken at my sister's wedding. It is a very special memory for all of us.

It's a Guy Thing

Enjoyed making this page. Used Basic Grey papers and chipboard. Old rub-on letters helped with the title. Baby rickrack added here and there. I used tons of colors of Glimmer Mist on the chipboard until I was happy with the color. It's a little boy page. I think Lucas and Ty will enjoy it.

Rock On

Lucas on Guitar Hero. He has been working on various songs and has gotten really great. Time for one for his birthday. Thought it was important to get these pictures so he could remember his beginning. Who knows where this kind of video thing will be in the future. We'll probably be laughing about this humble beginnings. I used a lot of left over stuff here. I thought it was kinda lame but I keep on looking at it at the store and kinda like it.

Baby Jade Arrives

Guess I'll have to get the title on this layout. Really, I didn't notice that it was missing until I looked at it on my computer. The journalling block says "Girl" and I was going to leave it like that. Now that I look at it on my computer . . . it needs a title. The rest of the line is from Basic Grey. Jade is almost 16 years old. I guess this one was a long time coming.

A Love of Puzzles

I think I scrapbooked these pictures a long time ago; but, when I look at them now, I see so much in the look on Lucas's face. I wanted to do another page . . . but now I am not really happy with it. We'll see if I save it or redo it again.

Ponytails

I did the unthinkable again. I pulled out old pictures and scrapbooked some of them. I found the original two pictures first . . . did the page and then found the little one (where Lucas is wearing a dress, has ponytails and painted toenails). I used old paper, old letters, old chipboard and then combined some new stuff with it. I Glimmer Misted the photo anchors and used some newer ribbon. The arrow is from the Basic Grey stickers that I used on my "Girl" page. Boy, do some of these old pictures bring back some forgotten memories. I guess that is why we scrapbook . . . so that we don't forget all of this stuff.

Today is Mother's Day

This is probably my favorite page of the weekend. I used some Wild Asparagus and found my coveted Wilma Basic Grey Chipboard letters. I Glimmer Misted them with various colors to find the right shade and then Glossy Accented over them. Again, it is a simple page; but I wanted to see the roses that my children got for me for Mother's Day this year.

Spittin' Flies

Man, am I bad with product names. I look at them thinking I will remember them to blog them and then . . . poof . . . gone. Anyhow, this is the line Trisha used in one of her classes. I think the papers are called "Dude" and they matched so well to the boy's clothes. We had so much fun on our first bike ride of the year except for the swarms of flies. After about the millionth time, I had to stop and take a picture of the guys literally "spitting flies". I also had to include a rub-on of a fly and a picture of my shadow riding my bike. It seemed like the only way to include a picture of me in any of these memories.

Pull Up Your Pants

The Graffiti Paper by B-Zoo ended up working the best with these pictures. My biggest problems was that I couldn't find the right blue paper anywhere. Since I wanted to see just how short Nathan's legs looked with his pants sooooooo low, I wanted to { } that picture. And yes, he has the "L"oser sign behind his head. Also, this is one of the only pictures of him with his eyes partially open so I made it a bit bigger. Let's see if I can get the journalling . . . it ways: This will rack it up as one of the most stupid fashion faux pas' of all time. Waist band under the ass . . . what the junk. I will continue to protest this way of wearing your pants. Boxers cover your butt, but your pants don't and then your shirt has to be long enough to cover your butt that your pants don't cover. Eventhough Nathan is over 6' tall, his legs look about 2' long because of the way his pants sit. Anyhow, I used some old chipboard letters again and journalled around the pattern.

A little bit of Basic Grey and a new {}[] punch helped to make this page. Simple and uncluttered probably because I loved the pictures. Besides, I whooped his butt. One thing I can still beat one of the kids at. Bit of journalling under the wavy paper. Another memory.

Opening Day

Very plain page about Mother's Day at the race track. Just used some grey cardstock and black for tires. Used some old rub-ons for the arrows and old chipboard letters and black and white pens to fill er up.

Shooting Hoops

It was a wonderful day except for the cup of hot coffee that spilled on my lap on the way to work first thing this morning. Quick change and then back off to work. I got slurpees on the way home, made chili for supper, dyed Sky's hair, played some 21 with Lucas over at the school (whooped his butt), got some pictures and printed them already; along with the racetrack pictures from Mother's Day and pictures of the flowers the kids got for me for Mom's Day. I'm pooped right out . . . but happy for spending some great time with the kids . . . be it helping with algebra, watching Kevin Costner in The Guardian or peeling potatoes for the kids . . . we had fun!

Everyday Life

This is a very simple page done with Fancy Pants paper letters and a saying. I put everything on black cardstock and painted it a bit with acrylic paint. This was my favorite page of the weekend and it only took me a bit of time to do. I keep looking at my pages and have come to the conclusion that I take pictures of every day life and put them on paper. I occasionally take out my kids to take pictures because I want to see them in every stage of their lives and preserve what they look like. However, there are no formal "photoshoots". I mean, I wanted to make sure I had a picture of Lucas with his long hair and then laughed the day I saw him dipping his strawberries in the canister of sugar with his pants pulled way down and his Family Guy boxers sticking way out. While I love some of the stuff people do with their pages, I really don't have the time (or maybe the creativity and talent) and energy to make each one a work of art. In other words, this is the scrapbooking of a very busy mother whose therapy is scrapbooking.

Family Roots

Laura said she missed my heritage pages so I dragged out some old pictures and did this page. I will check with my mom as to exactly who all of these people are. I used Wild Asparagus, Prima flowers and lace and some left-over bling. I was kinda happy with it when I was done.

I Am A Mother Because Of You

Lucas needed a picture of me for school, so I decided to make a copy for myself and do a page. Lucas and me just before Mothers' Day 2008. I used Wild Asparagus paper and Prima flowers.

Oopsie Daisy

A dare is a dare. Everyone at the Spring Fling expected me to wear jeans and a t-shirt--so . . . I dressed up. It was quite the sight for everyone. I had to take a few pictures so that I would remember just how silly I looked. I painted some chipboard daisies and for some reason OOPSIE DAISY seemed like the perfect title. CRAZY DAISY!!!

Kristen asked me to publish a few pages from this album that I showed her in the store. This is a Prima chipboard book that was embossed with these words. I used various media to draw over the words that I wanted to highlight. I also used a pack of Prima paper inside and various ribbons and Prima ribbon. It is a neat book that will take time to complete. It is about the person I am and how things that have happened to me in my life that have shaped me into the person that I have become.

Growing Up

I had to try something new again. I took this picture while I was tickling Lucas the other day. He slid down onto the ground and I took the picture from above. I loved the way his eyes looked. They were so blue; but the color in the picture was so red. All I wanted to get across was just how beautiful he is inside and out and that he is growing up way too fast for me. Once in awhile I want just want to catch the real Lucas in a picture.

Celebrate

Again, with all of the new paper arriving at the store and me getting a few photographs last week, somehow I managed to get a couple of pages done over the Prima Party weekend. This page was really easy since the background was from the same line as the patterned paper. The three patterned papers are a part of a quad from the same line. I used the three on the background and the fourth quad was the two flowerful corners that I also used on the page. Then I added some new Prima flowers, leaves and ribbon.

Busier Than Ever

Well, tonight I will try to upload some pages. I have only done two in the past few weeks since we have been so busy at JSI with the Crop and Prima Party. I have some great pictures to scrapbook and want to do Trisha's 6 x 16 Build a Book. I have three nights off so I plan to get something done. It will probably be cleaning the condo, but scrapbooking would be much more fun.

Sharon At One

We have this wonderful new paper in the store that works so well with black and white photos. I pulled some more older pictures out of my stash and had so much fun with all of this pink stuff. There are not many pictures of me as a child (since I am the fourth of four), so when I do a page, I use fun stuff. I used some new flourishes in the store, new paper and die cuts, cri-cut for the title, old flowers and some ribbon.

He Didn't Tell Me How To Live . . . & It Takes Balls to Snowboard

Anthony wore this get-up to Montana's in Sherwood Park and danced on the wooden floor with his steel-toed boots which caused quite a few stares. When we got back to their house, I asked him for a few pictures. He offered the pierced nipple shot and I took it. He is quite the kid. He has a heart of gold, is intelligent, knows how to save his money for important things and drives a hybrid. He could show a lot of people how to live their lives in a decent, smart way. I am proud to call him my nephew.

When I saw this picture, I warned Jade that I was going to do this page. She doesn't get the humor in it. She was grabbing to get her other set of mittens but it looks like she's "adjusting her balls". We had discussed that snowboarding was more difficult than skiing so the title stuck when the picture was developed. Simple page to put together . . . but one that had to be done nonetheless. Patterned paper, rub-ons and letter stickers . . . quick but memorable.

Everything Is Better In The Country

These are a few photographs that I took out at my sister's acreage while we were there over the easter break. It is so quiet and peaceful. I used some new paper, diecuts and stamped with acrylic stamps along the bottom and top corners.

Wild Child

Lovin' the overlays! Fancy Pants all the way! Right down to the rub-ons I had a blast putting together this page. The colors seemed to go so well for the pictures and then the rub-ons rubbed on so well on top of the overlay. I added some different color and sized eyelets, an old tag I had and some bright ribbon. The word "waves" is on the bottom in acrylic. So much fun working on this on a Saturday afternoon. It was nice to get back into the swing of things. I have been feeling like my scrapbooking hasn't been worthy of the paper it was put on. These last few pages have made me feel a bit better about it! I guess you need the right pictures, great paper and a bit of time to get it all together.

Rollercoaster Duo

While we were at West Edmonton Mall in March, Nathan just had to go on the Rollercoaster. Since Jade wouldn't go, Cal agreed to take the plunge. I snapped a few pictures before and after, one blurry one during and then Nathan bought the one they take for you. However, there were two people in front of them that took over the majority of the picture so I covered them with the spotty paper and added an arrow so you can actually notice it. I love the new boy lines that are in the store right now. I used a lot of rub ons from Fancy Pants as well. There is journalling under the picture where Cal looks like he's about to barf.

Sweet Baby Boy

Rhea was right, I am already starting to do some Ty pages. Of course, as we all know, it is fun to do different kinds of pages -- changing off from teens to scenery to heritage . . . etc. This is one of the new lines of Wild Asparagus or 29th Avenue. Since it is two-sided, I was able to switch around the backs and fronts and have it all work well. The scallops are from the die cut machine and I used some of my million and two buttons. I used these colors because of the greeny color in the hospital and the orangish-reddish plaid shirt Mikey was wearing.

Body Parts II

I know . . . it's what you've all been waiting for . . . the BODY PARTS II page. This one has more pictures . . . 16 in all, new chipboard letters and all of my favorite body parts. Just makes you want to take a nice car out for a fast cruise. We have these great page protectors that have fold out flaps on either side. So, it's not really a panoramic page . . . but kinda. It's fun anyhow and allowed me to use all of the pictures I wanted to.

Just a cute layout with new penguin acrylic stamps, some stickles and glittery letters. Just kinda fun.
