Wishes Do Come True

It has been a lifelong dream of mine to go to Disney. This truly was a dream come true for me. Roy said he saw me turn into a kid before his eyes while in The Magic Kingdom. I tried to soak it all in but it was way too much. Did I have fun....definately, the most fun I have had in years. While I love my life and my family and my jobs; it was so enjoyable to disappear into the world of make believe for awhile.

The Harry Potter exhibit at Disney is unbelievable. The castle is outstanding. The train and conductor were there. There were dancers and magic wands and capes...you name it, it was there. Out of everything...I must admit, I could have stared at the castle for days. The ride however, wasn't my cup of tea. I love roller coasters but dislike simulators. Harry Potter was a simulator....

I know they are different rides/shows but they are still both in the Animal Kingdom. The Tree of Life has "It's Tough to be a Bug" in it and the Lion King Show was in a different area; but these pictures belong together to me since they are all from the same movie. I loved the Lion King Show. The performers and the large giraffe, lion and elephant were amazing.

On our way from Daytona Beach to Orlando, we decided to go into the Daytona International Speedway and look around. We walked into the track area and snapped a few pictures and then looked at the
Walk of Fame. We just missed a race the day before we arrived...had we known!

Spaceshuttle Atlantis

The Last Voyage of the Spaceshuttle Atlantis was scheduled to lift off on July 8, 2011. We were hoping to see it. Everyone said there was a slim chance it would actually take off then....they get scrubbed quite often due to weather. We were so fortunate that it took off that day. You can watch it on the television; but to see it with your own eyes is another thing....MAGNIFICENT!

Daytona Beach

The Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion is cool. You ride in cars that go through the mansion. Apparently, they had to make it not so scary because it was scaring children too much. It is okay...not my favorite....but okay. Actually, the house itself is more interesting for me. I enjoyed the queue line and goofing around in it better.

My First Rollercoaster

I am sorry I haven't blogged for such a long time. I (as most of you) have been extremely busy. I hope to step up the pace a bit and blog more often. I hope everyone is doing well. I am busy teaching Grade 7 this year while still working at Just Scrap It. Those things along with having a friend in Regina whom I like to visit, keeps me busy. Tattoo and Bon Jovi

Jade decided to get a tattoo for her Grade 12 Graduation like Faith did last year. She asked me to go with her...but I thought she'd get upset if I took a camera. I took these pictures with my cell phone to show her how much he had done and how much longer she had to go. She said it was the most excruciating pain she had ever felt. Her body was shaking and her muscles were spasming uncontrolably. She even bit me, she was in so much pain. However, in the end, she loved her tattoo and was glad she went through with the whole 4 hour process in one sitting...or she says it would never have gotten completed.

I got a newspaper after the Bon Jovi Concert and decided to scrapbook the pictures with the bag I got my t-shirt in.

Roy can take the best pictures of us. I guess it's his long arms...and he has talent...I think he's done it before. This picture was taken at Jade's Graduation Ceremony. I seem to have a lot that look the same...just taken at a different time. I thought it would be fun to just make a page of the things that make Roy and I bestest friends.

The next page is my tribute to Roy and his English Royisms that confuse me on a daily basis. Every once in awhile he will say something that totally confuses me. These are usually terms from the U.K. that he hasn't Canadianized to yet. My favorite is when he says "Wha?" instead of "What?". I have incorporated that into my vocabulary now. And I got to use the new Basic Grey line on it.

While all of my daughters are getting pierced and tattooed, I went out on a limb and got a henna tattoo while I was in Regina. While it only lasted a week or so...I know that is about as long as I want anything to stay for right now. I may change my mind in the future...but for now this was enough for me.

Jade's Graduation Album

I made a graduation album for Jade very similar to Faith's. I stamped and color blended all of the 30 pages to make my own patterned paper. I embellished and placed the album on a stand so she can look at whichever pictures she wants to whenever.

Roy came down for the weekend of the Draggins 50th Anniversary Car Show. We had a wonderful time. We met at Tim Hortons and went from there. We went to the car show and then for a walk and then for supper and then we watched a movie at my place. We had brunch the next morning and went for another walk and then had a nap before supper. He is so much fun to be around. We have the same sense of humor and both talk during movies. So, don't ask me what Transformers II is about . . . I missed the entire show because we were laughing. So, I print this picture and can't find a paper to match it. We get some samples in the mail and "yeah" this line matches perfectly. I got to use some Tim Holtz dies to create this page. The word "memories" fit in the filmstrip die; so I knew I had to title it that. Afterall, Roy says life is about memories . . . and this one was a very fun memory.

It was so fun watching Jade try on Graduation dresses. She didn't try on too many before she tried on this one. Her boyfriend found it and the owner wanted to know what it looked like because it had only come in the day before. When she put it on, she exclaimed, "MOM, THIS IS IT" She new the minute she put it on she knew it was the one. I must admit it is fitting since when she was a little girl, she loved Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She loved the color yellow. As she got older, she wore anything but yellow. But this dress was the ultimate dress to finish the fantasy of being Belle.

A Walk Down By The River & Dress Up Faith

I like the new Basic Grey line called Origins (I think). I have had these pictures of a hike we took quite a few years ago. I'll put the year in the bottom right corner when I remember the year. It was just one of those pages where you add and add and add until you feel it is finished.

This is such a cute picture of Faith. She is wearing a dress her Gido bought in Mexico. She has on her golden high heeled shoes and on her head is a shoe bag. She felt like a princess. She looks like a Baba.

A pyrotechnics page. I got some of the confetti from the concert. It got caught in everything and I'm still finding it in the weirdest places.

I had to make a Gene's face page. The background didn't work out as I planned; but it's okay.

This is my favorite picture of Paul Stanley. Had to add a bunch of stars and by luck, the tickets matched the page perfectly.

These are a few of my KISS pages. Gene was crazy for these pictures and then he flew up onto the rafters.

These are also some of my favorite pictures of Paul. He flew onto the sound stage and then I got these pictures.

The last page was a bit difficult to make. Eventhough it is a bit old, I cut all of the pictures into 1" squares and put them all together.

Moments in Time - Sweet

I loved the colors in this picture. I found so many papers that matched. I ended up with these two and then added ribbons and flowers. The actual page looks so good.

You can't tell from the photo, but there are hints of orange and blue in it; which is why I chose these colors for the layout. The strips are paper and the diecut matched perfectly. This is Dwynn at 1 year old.

Shirley and Estelle & Ted

These are pictures of Shirley and Ted when they were little. I used my favorite baby paper from Graphic 45 and added some flowers, metal, ribbon etc. I cut the flowers out of another sheet of the same paper and popped them off the page with pop dots and ink around the edge of the flowers. I added some leaves that had the same tones.

I used the plaid on Terralynn's dress when I was deciding on this page. I seemed like the one thing that really stuck out. It slowly grew from there. The red flower ribbon has black brads in the centers of the flowers and the white flowers are a felt ribbon.

Moments in Time - Shirley

This is my favorite page that I did this weekend. At first I was a total mess with it. Slowly, I found things here and there. I began all of these pages at home and completed them at work. I guess having supplies at both places helps to add to the complete page. Anyhow, it isn't a page with any "line" on it, I gathered things from different lines, places and some are years old . . . but worked perfectly for the page.

Building the Cabin

I finally figured out the dates on the pictures with a little explanation. Anyhow, between clearing the land and getting the utilities in, it took quite awhile before the cabin could be constructed. I added some dark blue ribbon to match the title and then I added some brads that look like screw heads across the page. I felt the framing paper and the blueprint paper matched the colors in the pictures well.
